As you may know, I, Anna, have a dog named Jet. Well we went camping with him and he is normally not a swimming type (Like most whippets). We went camping with a group of Russian friends and right next to the camp there was a river. Now, this river was pretty much the temperature of a glacier even though it was a sunny 86 degrees day, but since we're Russian (Lots of snow, heh) we all jumped in at one point or another. After my dad swam to a little island in the middle of the river, I followed. Jet immediatly started whining and instead of actually jumping to it, he swam across the icy cold river to get to us. Coincidently, we realized it was his birthday (July 5th) and thought he was celebrating. Jet also realized he had to swim to get back to the camp and got scared. My dad saved the day, though, and carried him stiff as a board across the river. Finally Jet chillaxed on his blanket in the sun to dry off. Happy Birthday Jet!

Thats all we really know, we can't predict the future so thats how its gonna be! -----Dana and Anna Occasionally, Dana and I will write a full-fledged "article" of what we did that day, well, this is one of those occasions. Lets, begin with my breakfast, because, why not? I ate a couple fruits and a peanut butter cake pop I had made a day earlier then, went back to my lair (or bedroom, meh) and started drawing a kitty. Just as I was about to start the details I heard my families car and rushed to get ready and in the car. I also saw my dog, Jet, jumping in. You see, every year during the berry-picking season my family goes to pick cherries in Hood River because they're my dads favorite, no joke. My sister accidently left a egg in her pocket and we had to buy food for us and my sisters chickens. After sitting in the car getting bored I placed my jacket on my head and slept my way to the cherry farm. When we arrived everything seemed bright so I slid on my sun glasses. This year we went to an organic cherry farm, which annoyingly was 2 1/2 times more expensive than usual (It was $4 per pound and $5 for my sisters favorite, its usually $1-2 per pound) so instead of getting enough cherries for me to swim in we got three measly buckets, which was fine. My sister and I started climbing up trees to get the juiciest cherries and while picking I noticed a huge amount of what I thought was wet sap. Here's a tip: When picking cherries, don't leave the stem, it's just weight that you pay for but don't eat and then you can stuff more cherries in the buckets. After we filled up the buckets we had a lunch of garlic naan bread, salmon and cheese. Well that was after we paid for the cherries. When we finished, I asked my dad to pick off the sap because it was as hard as a rock and looked like an amber crystal. We drove back home while my sister read books and I took several pictures on my moms phone. I finished drawing my cat and impressed my family. Have a nice afternoon/evening! Signing off, Anna Recently, Dana and I have been posting a lot of things with pictures of animals alongside them. One reason is that we might be obsessed with them but the other is because we both have pets that we love and care for. And today, I want to talk about both our pets (Also, I am waiting for a peanut butter cake to be out from the oven). Lets start with me, Anna. I'll begin with my normal pet, my dog. My dog is a whippet, a breed that is just a smaller and faster version of a greyhound. Their ribs tend to stick out, although ours is a bit skinnier (we are working to fatten him, no worries!). His name is Jet, he is almost four and was born July 5th, and a year I forgot. I used to have a cat but he ran away and never came back after 2 years (RIP Persimon). And finally, the weirder pets my (technically my sisters) five chickens and recently two chicks. All of the adult chickens are hens (one of them became broody, or wanting to hatch eggs, so we bought 3 fertilized eggs and they all hatched (Sadly, one was missing when I came back from camp, wolfs)) and they are each a different breed. We have a Barred Rock, Pepper, an Americauna, Eagle (who lays blue eggs), a Wynndott, Giselle, and the other two chickens whose breed I always forget, a black chicken named Ciara/Sierra and a speckled large hen named Luna. We haven't figured out the gender of the two chicks, who are aboth lavender Americaunas (one is a split who is black). The black chick's name is Kuro (Japanese for Black) and the light and large lavender is Chrisanthamum.. I hope to eventually get a Siberian Flying Squirrel (Google them they're ADORABLE). Now you've heard about Anna's pets, but I am currently the one typing ( Dana). I have a hypoallergenic Siberian kitten. Her name is Tasha and she is so cute. She will sleep in the most awkward positions and she gets annoyed easily and is not afraid to attack. She is under a year old. She is grey, white and black and a very fluffy tabby. This breed are very social but the males like to cuddle more and are more affectionate than the females. Hope that tells you more about us. ---Anna and Dana |
